Meet the Geeks Lunch Seminar: XML/RDF: From Data to Information

“XML/RDF: from Data to Information” is a quick overview of XML with a focus on some of the salient aspects of the grammar needed to communicate the semantics of data. A lunch-time seminar for the experienced programmers and software engineers who are inexperienced in the ways of XML. XML is a subject that most folks have heard about but few are really using its power. It is a lot more than using angle brackets to markup a document. This seminar will quickly cover the grammar of XML and then dive into using XSLT transforms and how XML/RDF/OWL can be used in the data marshaling part of your next project. The future web has been called the Semantic Web. XML is how we encode the “semantic” aspects of the information we exchange on the web.
